Faulty Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) unit

The DTC is set active if any of the signals in the CAN message "SAS_Prop"reports error, N/A or any undefined values. It is also set if the CAN message is received too often (more than 5 messages per 10ms tick 3 ticks in a row. The DTC is set inactive if all signals in the CAN message "SAS_Prop" reports valid values and the message is not received too often. The DTC is not set in the following cases: • ignition is turned off • first 2 seconds after ignition on • system voltage is below 22 volt • system voltage is above 30 volt

Possible causes: * The sensor is not firmly attached to the steering column so the sensor is out of range. * The sensor is faulty (electrical or mechanical internal fault)
